Several ongoing upgrades will make DEVIUM more scalable, secure, and sustainable. These upgrades will improve DEVIUM and ensure seamless continuity on the current chain.
Proof-of-Stake and DEVIUM Chain
IUM is protected by Proof-of-Stake, but this wasn't always the case. DEVIUM is the first step in establishing a Proof-of-Stake token negotiation layer within IUM, launching alongside the mainnet in December 2025. This allows participants to begin staking their IUM and prepares the network for a formal transition from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake through consolidation.

This merger and upgrade formally introduces proof-of-stake (PoS) into IUM, while abandoning the proof-of-work mechanism. This prepares the blockchain for future scaling upgrades, such as by Danksharding the PoS mechanism on the Kal's mainnet, while reducing attention by over 99.9%.
This will merge the execution layer (the existing mainnet) with the new consensus layer (DEVIUM chain) to form the current single DEVIUM chain.
